This hotel was very clean and tidy and considering the price was very good value. Would willingly stay there again as the staff were very friendly, the bed was very comfortable and I could open the windows too.

Lovely Hotel, room was clean & spacious, tastefully decorated, only down side was no hot water to have a wash on the evening, we were offered a room change after complaining, but still couldn't guarantee hot water, this was offered just before 7pm and we had a table booked for 7.30, this would have made us late. Full English breakfast was not the best, bacon was undercooked, fried bread was deep fat fried, black pudding was rubbery, cereal & yogurt was nice. Ate in the Italian restaurant on the evening, food was very nice, fillet steak cooked perfect. The afternoon tea was lovely the scones were to die for. Not sure why but the heating in hotel was on full blast, very hot must cost them a fortune. I would like to stay again, but having to wash in cold water was a bit off putting.
Hotel is lovely and a favourite of ours however the room they gave us was very small and I don't tho k the ed was a double as my husband and I could barely fit into it . . Decor was lovely but the pillows on the bed were like rocks . . Very hard. We didn't sleep at all and the view was of a back lane which was noisy with people going to their work. Very disappointed
This is a fantastic place to have a Christmas Party - We had ours in the Let there be crumbs suite and it was excellent. the staff were very polite and attentive, the food arrived hot and in a speedy manner and tasted divine. thank you very much see you next year from Sunderland City Council!
