Nice place but underfunded, some interesting artefacts. Hangar was bitterly cold and cut short our visit as other hanger was closed. The custodian did apologise and let us in half price so full marks to him.

Ramshackled but very interesting collection of plans world war vehicles and tanks and also buses and trams. Took my 6 and 2 year old who loved the spaces and items to discover but had to keep a close eye on them.

Had a really good time here today with my little lad. He practically skipped all the way round. Lots of info and local stories about what happened in Sunderland etc during the war. Would love to go back again on a warmer so we can appreciate the Vulcan a bit longer lol

A hidden gem with a wide selection of exhibits. Had a great couple of hours wandering round with our son. Feels a bit of a work in progress and the sheer density of exhibits in some locations is overwhelming coupled with a lack of interpretation and information at times. To get more on the major exhibits it could be an idea to read the information on the museum website, possibly an opportunity for some QR codes to scan?On the plus side our son got to wander around and under some iconic airframes and my wife realised how big a Vulcan is when on the ground!

A little gem of a place. Took my 21 yr old autistic son there. He loves all things military so it was perfect for him. As long as you go there with an open mind and appreciate that its not a govt funded museum its well worth the visit. 10/10 for the staff/volunteers for doing a great job
