A lovely family day out. Parking was a bit of a nightmare but loads to keep the kids interested for a few hours. Having the library in there was nice as the kids picked out a few books and chilled for 10 minutes.
My toddler loved it. Library could be bigger. Good nappy change and toilet facilities.
Visited today to see the Leonardo Davinci exhibition. It was interesting but did not wow me. I enjoyed more looking at the other drawings within this exhibition. Staff were very helpful.
A small version of the discovery museum in near by Newcastle. The indoor garden is a nice addition, took my 2 year old to see the dinosaurs and he was thoroughly impressed! Took us about 30 minutes to have a wander around the whole place. We made a day of it by taking the bus and the metro, otherwise it would fill maybe an hour or so. It was free tho, donations gladly accepted, so it was a cheap day out overall.
Well worth a visit, interesting and bigger than you'd think. Usually good trails for kids to follow (admission is free, but there is a small fee for the trail which is well worth it). Decent caf and the Winter Gardens are usually an oasis of calm.
